We all lead busy lives and contribute so much to the community, that WBO,
along with our community partners, will be celebrating our silver anniversary by
nominating 25 women who have significantly contributed to the Montgomery County
community during the past 25 years.
One of these honorees will be chosen to receive the ATHENA Award.
I'd like to ask you each to take a moment and think of the women you know: mothers,
daughters, grandmothers, mentors, teachers, the clerk at your favorite store who works
with homeless women, the leader at your place of worship who babysits her grandchild, the
organizer of our County's homeless shelter for men, the sung and unsung heroines who
quietly go about improving our world.
Then take one more part of your busy day to celebrate that woman by nominating her for this honor.
Nomination forms are online at www.wbo-mc.com/nomination05.pdf and the deadline for
nominations is May 26. If you need more details, please let me know.
Feel free to pass the form around at work, at your church, where you volunteer,
to friends who are out of the area but still keep ties here in the community and other
places you think of that I would not. It is planned for each of the 25 honorees to be
recognized in a special insert in the Gazette of Politics and Business in September -- and again,
at our Gala luncheon on October 21.
Thank you.

Using Self Hypnosis in Your Business
Presenter: Laura West, WBO member
Learn the techniques used by many business
entrepreneurs in visualizing a successful practice,
reducing stress, staying motivated and creating their
dreams. During the workshop, you will understand what
hypnosis is, how to do creative visualizations and use
positive affirmations while in a relaxed state. Learn
how to remain calm and centered even in difficult

Laura West has been a Master Certified Hypnotherapist
and NLP Practitioner since 1999. During that time she
worked in the biotechnology industry in sales and
management, using the skills she learned about stress,
dealing with difficult situations and people, and
gaining rapport. In 2002, she became actively
involved in hypnosis by seeing clients and teaching
hypnosis for a center in Annandale, VA. October 2004,
she decided to strike out on her own, and began her
home business. This spring, she will be also teaching
adult continuing education about hypnosis at Frederick
Community College and at Hagerstown Community College.
Laura will do a relaxation session and teach
self-hypnosis.
